How to get to your Hotel from the Barcelona Airport

The airport of Barcelona is called El Prat. It is one of Spain’s major gate ways and is often used as the entry point for anyone entering the Iberian Peninsula.
El Prat is conveniently located about 15 kilometers from the city center. You will take the C-246 freeway, which also winds towards out of the city proper and towards the seaside resort of Castadefells.
Unless you plan to walk out of the airport, you will need to find some form of transportation to bring you to your Barcelona hotel. You have many options. You can rent a car, get a taxi, ride the train, take a bus commute, or request for a shuttle. Which one is best for you?
The car rental is one of the most convenient ways of getting around the city. For business travelers, it can ensure that you get to your meetings and client calls on time, and give you enough mobility to squeeze in your shopping or personal tours between business errands. It is also a good option for those who are on vacation but want to see the areas around Barcelona. Big groups of travelers can also save money on car rentals, since you can split the cost of the car instead of buying individual tickets.
Taxis afford fast and convenient travel. It’s fast, and lets you relax as you get from one point to another. A taxi ride from the air port to the city will take about 15 minutes. You can find rows of taxis at all three airport terminals. The fare will cost about 16 Euros (very affordable) to travel from here to the city centre, the Plaza Catalunya. Heading towards Sagrada Familia? Fare is slightly higher at 19 Euros. But do bear in mind that you will have to pay an additional 90 cents for every item of luggage.
The train system runs through the airport terminal towards the Mataro Line, Sant station, Plaza Catalunya, and to Arc de Triomf. However you will have to adjust o the schedule of the trains, which start at about 6:00 a.m. and then close after 11 p.m.
